There is a great blog I ran across a few days ago called “Old Life.” The blog is authored by D.G. Hart and John R. Muether. Both men are elders in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. If you wish to read more about them you can go here. Hart has authored several books including a biography I really liked about J. Gresham Machen titled “Defending The Faith.” Getting up in years myself I was immediately drawn to the title! I came across an entry titled “Why Does Mahaney Get More Slack Than Nevin?” (If you would like more information on John Nevin go here.) The article was written back in July of 2011 but I found the comments fascinating. One of the main commenters is Donald Philip Veitch. He is a retired pastor, a marine and also writes the blog “Reformed Churchmen.” It was encouraging to me that serious scholars have serious doubts about Mahaney and his enablers. You will find them all mentioned below.
